Butter Garlic Chicken broth Dried thyme White sugar Pasta Sweet onions Gruyere cheese White wine Shredded chicken Worcestershire sauce

Ingredients

First, begin to cook the onions in melted butter.

1

After 5 minutes, add salt and sugar to jump-start the caramelization.

2

Stir frequently and cook over high heat. Every 5 minutes, add a splash of broth and scrape up the browned bits. Repeat 4 times.

3

Add the white wine, scrape up the browned bits, and let reduce for another 5 minutes. Onions should be jammy by now.

4

Finish the onions with Worcestershire sauce, thyme, and garlic.

5

Make it saucy by pouring in broth and season with salt and pepper.

6

Assemble the casserole. To a greased dish, add pasta, onion sauce, chicken, and cheese. Do not mix!

7

Bake at 425F covered for 10 minutes, then uncovered for another 8-10 minutes. Broil for bubbly cheese.

8

Let cool slightly and then serve!
